The 8th February 2017 saw the UKFT Rise annual social event held at the Aviva Digital Garage. The event was well attended and saw the passing of the torch for the chairmanship for Rise. Richard Hurtley stepped down from his role and Patrick Dudley-Williams, from UK Menswear brand Reef Knots, took his place. At the event, Patrick spoke about his business, its growth and how Rise had helped him during his early years.
The mentoring event was one of the highlights of the year, seeing 36 brands come together to speak to 13 mentors from across the fashion industry. The event was held at the offices of City of London law firm Wedlake Bell. Each mentor spoke to three brands across the evening with a winner being chosen from the three. The event therefore resulted in 13 brands being chosen to have ongoing mentoring and advice from their area specialist. This event offers huge value to brands and is likely to be one of Rise's key events moving forward. A huge success all round.
The private dining room at The Trampery, Old Street, was the setting for the Rise Investor Exchange. 4 investors from Capitalise, Estraika Ltd., Piper and Enter the Arena sta down with 6 handpicked brands. The evening started with drinks & informal networking followed by a 3 course dinner. The round table event format is now tried and tested and sees brands and investors interacting over an informal dinner, sharing challenges, solutions and approaches very candidly.
